Kyocera TASKAlfa 6551ci Finisher Disappears

$

Once or twice a week when individuals want to print and use a feature like stapling the option will not be available in the driver. Looking at the graphic for the printer in the driver properties the finisher is missing. The only way I have found to fix this is to go on the print server, go to the device settings tab, click the auto configure button and auto configure and the finisher will be shown again. The image shows PCL XL and the driver version is 60.3024.0

I remember seeing this ages ago in another gig, but that never was resolved either.

Canon C3530 color printing is horrible

Anyone have any ideas on how to fine tune a Canon C3530?  I've done the built in print and scan calibration, but the colors are still horrible.  Everyone is getting super frustrated.  I've reset to factory defaults with no difference.  Replaced all toner, no difference.  Replaced drums, no difference.  Called in Canon support.  NO HELP!  The printer out on the Left is from a C5235 and the one on the right is the C3530.  Horrible.  Any ideas??

Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 feeder roller replacement

I have a Ricoh Aficio MP 5000 in my office that we use mainly to image paperwork. Because we scan a lot, the feeder rollers (I hope that's what they are called) wore out really fast, and I have to call someone to replace them at least once a month, and pay them a lot of money to change 3 rollers which takes 5 minutes. So, I was hoping someone can tell me what rollers I can buy and change them myself. Thanks

Lanier LD 016 Fax dialer starts when printing from Windows

Hey There Spiceheads,

Hope everyone is doing ok and had a good weekend. It's Monday, so I won't ask about that.....

Here is my dilema. One of our Dr.s has a Lanier LD 016 MFP (yes, yes I know, but she won't part with it as it was hers before her office was taken over by the hospital/Corp. I work for), and when sending a print job to it, the fax dialer starts up.

I have remoted onto the printer to check settings and in the physical printer settings and didn't see anywhere to turn the fax feature off.

Checked the driver settings to be sure there wasn't a fax driver installed, which there wasn't.

Google turned up nothing.

Does anyone here know how to turn off/disable the fax so it won't try to dial out when sending a print job to it?

This issue recently started. Only connections to the printer is a data line. No voice connections.

Thanks and...

Zebra ZT410 prints extra bolded

Hello all,

We have the above printer that randomly prints extra bolded characters. The ink isn't smudged or anything, the labels that come out just have text on it that appears to have printed over itself more than once.

This is a completely random occurrence, we can't seem to reproduce the error on command. The rest of the time this happens, the labels look completely fine.

Anyone experience this/have any recommendations? I ran the align printer sensor and looked for other utilities in the printer itself, but, didn't come across much.

Thanks all.

Several HP Printers won't scan to network share anymore

Hi all,

since two weeks most of our HP printers won't scan to a network share. That worked for months like a charm but suddenly every test (via embedded web server) fails with error pgNetworkFolderAccounts-503. This applies to several models like OfficeJet Pro 8730, Officejet Pro 8620, Officejet Pro 8600 and others.

Some other printers like OfficeJet Pro X576dw or a Canon Printer work fine.

Steps I already checked:

-SMBv1, v2 and v3 - none of them work

-Manual IP instead of Hostname (for network share), doesnt work - so DNS is not the problem

-NTFS permissions on the share are correct

-Tried other shares, none of them work

-Firmware update of the printers

Those steps were kinda userless because other printers (as mentioned above) can scan to those shares with exactly the same settings just fine.

This has to be like a really bad bug or something...

Inside the fuser on the new HP M607/608/609 and M632 printers

Finally had the opportunity to dig into one of these. Technically they have changed a few things. After years of relying on nylon bushings the pressure rollers now feature actual bearing like those used by Lexmark for years.

Other notable change is the sleeve on the hot roller. Starting with the 4250 HP has started using a metal sleeve with a teflon coating instead of the mylar cover they use on smaller printers and the 4200 series. They have now returned to the teflon coated mylar cover, which likely is related to the push to reduce the noise level of the printers.

This is what a fuser looks like when you are done taking apart and don't have to reassemble.

Kyocera Taskalfa 4052 touchscreen issue

Hi

Odd one for you. The touchscreen on this device packs up first thing in the morning. It appears to start inexplicably working after about 1 hour. Screen works, just no touch functionality.

Tried recalibrating. Shutting down over the weekend still causes the issue so it's not a sleep problem. Full power cycles do not help.

We have several identical machines and it's the only one that does it.

Convert a HP LJ P2035 into an auto paper dispenser?

I am looking at whether or not it is feasible to convert a HP LJ P2035 into an auto paper dispenser. Something like what is on this YouTube video but not using an Arduino (or using an Arduino if necessary): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=980Zj0PqqYg. I'm using a P2035 because I have one laying around.

Here is the reason: manufacturing assembly line needs a blank, plain, letter sized piece of paper that the worker will grab and use to assemble a product.

Pulling from a stack of paper will not work as the worker must grab only one, and the papers have a tendency to stick together, that slows things down. We want the paper to be sitting there when the worker needs it. A photo eye sensor will dispense another sheet of paper when the output tray is empty. The paper is too porous to use suction so this idea came up.

In theory it should...

Printer stuck on printing double sided?

Hey All,

This problem is baffling me right now. I'm having several computers printing double sided. They are connected to 1 print server and 1 print driver on this print server. I've tried going into print preferences and changing the default to 1 sided but it still says 2 sided on the computer that's printing. I've tried changing this setting on the print server itself and each individual computer. I've also tried uninstalling the print driver from the print server and reinstalling the print driver. Nothing I've done so far has fixed this issue. The issue seemed to happen out of the blue as well. Maybe something got changed, but I can't find it. Any suggestions?

One Good Reason to upgrade to HP FutureSmart 4

$

I am often asked by customers for one good reason to update older machines to FutureSmart 4. There are a lot of compelling reasons from the Smartphone like intuitive interface that users seem to just get faster to the built in job accounting, but after working with customers easily the best feature is the ability of users to create their own saved shortcuts to enable options for jobs they use most often. In Furture Smart 3, a machine administrator had to create these shortcuts through the EWS, and I know that often means someone from IT and I know we all have better things to do.

PaperCut compatible desktop A4 MFP

We have an HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dn that has died and needs replacing. It was initially purchased for just two users in our accounts department but now the floor has grown to 18 staff which includes graphic designers.

We use a Canon ImageRunner Advanced C5535 on another floor with PaperCut MF and it works brilliantly, I'd like to have a similar spec A4 intelligentdevice to replace the HP that can run PaperCut.

I'm not able to go for theImageRunner as they are all floor-standingand due to the setup of the floor, the replacement printer needs to go on a workbench which means it can't really be higher than 70CM.

Can anyone recomenda make/model I shouldresearch? I'm looking for the same spec as the ImageRunner in terms of scanning and print speed, it only needs to be A4 and if it can produce better colour printouts that's a bonus.

How to make an MFP's scan to email function work with Gsuite/Gmail 2SV/SFA

I just spent days figuring this out, and it was a new problem for the support staff servicing Sharp and Xerox MFPs, and Google's Gsuite support (as well as myself), so I figured I would create this article to hopefully help some poor soul in the future! I'm new to Spiceworks, so hopefully I'm posting this in the right place.

Background: Gmail & Gsuite support two different types of additional security login features, named 2-Step Verification (2SV) and 2-Factor Authentication (2FA). These both have the same goal of making your account more secure by requiring you to verify your login on your phone. However, the behavior is slightly different:
2SV - when you log in, your phone will ding with a 'was this you?' message. You can choose Yes or No. Note that you can generally still log in without your phone present, the 2SV is a retroactive...

We are having some junk printing from outside hackers coming through our network printer which is setup on the 9100 port. I went into the printer properties on each computer and changed from RAW to LPR. I tested the print from each computer and it worked UNTIL I rebooted each computer. Then the printer was not listed in the Devices and Printers. I tried uninstalling the printer as the software was still installed on it, but now am getting the print spooler error that says the service is turned off. I restart the services and all dependencies but still get the error message. I was finally able to RESTORE back before I made the changes on all but 1 computer. Without having to recover the whole computer, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the printer to install? I tried RESTORE in safe mode, and admin mode, etc. no luck in...

Printing to Multiple Printers, printing at the same time

Customer has four printers, and a single Macintosh OS High Sierra with Adobe Bridge, they would prefer to use Bridge to print to all these printers (separate jobs and photographs) and have all of these printers printing separate things at the same time. How would this be completed? Currently the jobs are printed sequentially.
