Printing with Canon Generic PCL6 Plus drivers v 5.10 crashes apps intermittently
At a clients site we recently installed a few dozen Canon printers, LBP215, LBP312. Clients are connecting via USB, direct IP, and through server. Occasionally users will print from any app, even including test page from the driver, and it will open up a "print to file" dialog box and crash what ever app sent the print job. Cancelling the save to file with sometime print the file, but always the app will crash. Word, Excel, Chrome, Adobe, notepad, print driver. The problem happens with all connection types. Needless to say this can be a problem when a user prints a document they have not saved, their work will be lost. They do not want to use UFR II drivers due to a print quality issue.

I am looking for a standalone device that will scan checks and endorse them. The device should have sufficient bundled software to program the endorsement line and to capture the images.

ScanSnap Fujitsu ix500 not staying connected
Fujitsu ix500 does not stay connected to Windows 10 Computers. So far the only thing that seems to work to get them to re-connect is a reboot, not exactly a great solution in most of my users cases. Have tried all known troubleshooting, even some pretty far out there stuff. Anyone know a for sure fix?

Motorola Symbol Scanner in Healthcare
We need to program our Motorola Symbol Scanners to properly scan the ndc code for medications. I have used the 123 software but I am not sure how to get it to properly scan a stacked barcode and only give the ndc code. for instance in this barcode all we want is 63739522107 and it gives the preceding numbers and also the lot # and exp date which makes it fail in our application. the ndc code isn't always the last numbers or I'd program it for that. I attached a sheet of barcode samples. our expectation would be the following. We do have other scanners that do it correctly but they are different manufacturers and have diff config parameters

Printers server driver update
Hello all,
So we use in our domain a printers server, which contains the installed drivers for all our printers in our domain. So when a new user starts, we just have to be there when they log in and type \\servername and the screen fills with printers that we just double click on and bingo the printer is installed from the print server.
We recently had a swap of new printers for old printers from the same company (contract renewal). We had all the new drivers installed and updated for all the printers on site.
Should we go and delete all the old drivers?
Everything is functional and no one is complaining.
Just a curiousity to see what other IT pros would say.
My option would be: Wipe the server and re-install from scratch upon delivery of new printers, but we didn't do that (I'm not in upper management, just one of the peons!).

Dell 2150CN paper getting stuck in the Imaging Unit.
Hi Everyone,
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
I have an issue that's driving me nuts. I have a Dell 2150CN printer and the paper is constantly getting stuck in the Imagining Unit. It's not sticking only on the bottom pickup area but also in the middle and top portion going into the drum assembly, It's been working great until these recent paper jams started happening and the printer is about 5 or 6 years old, never had a problem with it. Here are the steps that I have already done.
* Cleaned the grey rubber pickup roller
* Changed paper from a new pack
* Changed the Drum Assembly
* Changed the Imaging Unit
Are there any other adjustments i can look at? The drum and Imaging units are purchased straight from Dell.
When I changed the Imaging Unit, the only side that I got was the side that fits into the printer and not the large dark...

Konica MFP won't scan-to-file
Howdy folks, I'm almost out of ideas with this one. We have one particular MFP a Konica Bizhub C638 and we can't get it to scan to file, by hook or by crook. Problem came about after we disabled SMB v1, I'm thinking that for some reason, the device is still trying to use SMB v1 despite being set to use highest available blah blah. We can't just re-enable SMB v1, although it works (we've tested) it's not as secure as we need it to be.
I will say that we have a solutions contract in place, the guys I've spoken to on a good few occasions likes to blame the firmware, which is on the correct version according to himself. And has done so several times, just not helpful.
We have other devices C638's set up and working correctly, there is no difference in settings.
Has anybody else had any experience of this at all? Or anything similar? Failing...

What benefits are there to using GPO's to control printers in classrooms and offices versus login scripts? I've some 3800 computers and 200 printers/multifunctions
I'd prefer to stay away from preferences and why one os better than the others. I inherited a system using VBS Login scripts

Turning off low toner notifications from copiers
We have a Ricoh MP C5503 and it sens all my users notifications that the toner is low. Sometimes it appears to overexaggerate this self-conceived notion and refuses to print for some users. The toner is fine!
Is there something I can disable to prevent this message from being sent? Maybe cut off the bilateral communication between the copier and the users? I suppose I need to sort out if it would be a setting on the copier or a setting on the Windows computers.
I've been looking down a lot of dead ends at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

Zebra ZXP Series 7 and Series 3
At our hotel group we use a couple of Zebra ZXP Series 3 card printers to make loyalty cards for our customers.
2 of them are ranging the 9000 cards per year, up to 900 cards per month.
This amount of work has a toll on internal components. They have been going to maintenance a couple of times and one of them had to be replaced within a 2-3 years period.
On Zebra's webpage they refer Series 3 as a Low to Medium printing volume.
And Series 7 as a Medium to High volume printing.
But how many are Medium or High printing volume?
Will the Series 7 handle the our workload better, thus without mechanical issues for a bigger period?

Attention HP users with devices running FutureSmart 4, Rev. 4.7 coming soon
The first major fleet wide firmware update will be released in the next week or so. This is the first major release since May to cover all devices running FutureSmart 4. It is always good to keep your firmware up to date but a few enhancements give you more reason to get current. Enhancements include the ability to adjust image placement on copies during a preview. HP has also added the ability to create sorted output on units without finishing by automatically alternate between printing one copy long edge first and second set short edge first. Mostly applicable to A3 units that can load letter paper in both standard and R configurations, will work with standard letter sized printers and MFP's if using A5 sized paper. The handy ID copy feature has also been added so it works for all types of scan to email or scan to folder as well.

How can I reset my Canon i-Sensys MF635Cx Manager ID and Pin?
Got a Canon printer Isensys mf635cx but forgot the password I used when setting it up. I didn't finish the set hoping I would do the rest latter. I have tried the password I thought i used but it cant accept. I went back to the shop where i bought to ask for technical support and they could not but referred me to their dealer in South Africa who I have been calling but their line is constantly off. How do i rest the manager ID and PIN?
