I'm looking for a color printer that can comfortably print labels and on glossy stock on 8 1/2 X 11 paper. Our total volumes aren't that high (maybe 15,000 color pages per year), but we do need to print 100 pages at a time, sometimes with almost full page color. I don't mean a full bleed -- just that the entire is printable surface is color.
We currently use a Dell 5110n and an HP M451dn for these print jobs. In both cases the print quality is fine, but the Dell has paper pick up issues (from the MPF and the drawer) and the HP starts to emit funny smells and overheat when I print more that 10 or 15 pages of the full color labels.
In the HP world I'm looking at the Officejet X or the Color LaserJet Enterprise M553n or the 651n. We have a couple of Officejet X476's and the quality is good, but I'm not sure how well the Officejet X's handle...
