We've been having a problem with the Fujitsu ScanSnap 1300 scanner. We have quite a number of these deployed in our organization. A couple of months ago we noticed that the scanner was loosing connectivity with the computer. The ScanSnap Manager icon was circled red and when the scanner was opened, the blue light was blinking. The service tool in the software would usually fix this but only temporarily. I later discovered with the help of Fujitsu tech support that the WIA service stopped and had to be restarted to reinitialize the scanner. This happened when ever our users logged off their machines. My temporary solution was to ask them not to log off but to lock their machine at the end of the day. This has worked but I need a permanent solution. I find this weird because this scanner is neither Twain nor WIA compliant and yet...
