Adding a printer on 64 bit Windows 7 from a shared printer on a 32 bit Windows 7

I have a printer that is shared from a computer that is running a 32 bit Windows 7. It is hooked up to the host computer by USB and then shared out. I've exhausted all options I can think of to get this printer added on to another computer that is a windows 7 -64 bit machine. Following is what I've tried:

Method #1) I try to add it by going to Add a printer add network printer select printer Next. Windows then says it is connecting to the printer and checking windows update for several minutes. After that it says "No driver found. Windows can't find a driver on the network. To locate one manually click OK." I then click OK. I then manually select the driver from a source that I know has worked before on other 64 bit computers and it says "Windows cannot locate a suitable driver."
