Question about LRP

What does this sentence actually tell:
                      
If your printer is networked and there is another LPR connection to the printer from a different PC
                      
1) Can somebody please explain what a LPR connection is?
                          
2) If I have a Print Server and a client has installed the printer direct locally (not via server), is this a LPR connection?
