Ricoh Aficio MP 6501C ... 30 or 60 ppm.
I've had this printer setup directly on each pc as a local printer printing to TCP/IP port with IP address hard coded in. That was a bit of a pain, so setup as a network printer in Win2K+8R2 in Printer Management, deployed through Group Policy to each computer.
If somebody made a big mistake, they could press the interrupt button on the printer control panel and then stop/cancel the job.
Somebody tried that last week, didn't work, Interrupt button had no effect, and couldn't get into printer jobs until after job finished.
At 9 or 10 cents/page for color, these mistakes can be slightly expensive. Beyond that, it's just a waste.
Is this normal for networked printers, or is there something I can do? Standard print spooling, render on client, start immediately, etc. Small office, so very open permissions (on the printer).
Thanks for any info/help.
