Printer prints faded chracters on a column of paper

 have an issue where I have a laser printer which has enough ink but when it prints the paper has faded characters on a column of the paper and its only that particular column of all paper print outs. I was thinking that either that portion of the paper was not receiving enough charge to attract enough ink, or and I'm not sure but I think the drum also receives a charge where it picks up the ink from the toner cartridge and then puts it on the paper so maybe the drum wasnt getting enough charge on that particular area..I suspect the drum since the pattern is the same for all print outs...what do u think?.
