I've heard it enough and thought I'd post a topic.... Chromebooks use GCP as their only native print system requiring users to connect printers to the google cloud print service. Very efficient and simple for home use or single printer installations but once the print environment gets larger many IT folks have experienced connectivity issues.
Google just released version 2.0 with "Local Mode". Basically it avoids going to the internet and keeps the GCP protocol on the local subnet, avoiding the need to connect to GCP service on the internet..
