Our printer maintenance company is requesting to replace our LaserJet 4600/4650 printers with the LaserJet 4700 instead. I'm pretty sure we're just going to tell them no, we don't want to replace these at this time, but I figure since it's been brought up, why not connect with all you fine people for your suggestions?
Is the 4700 an improvement enough to switch to or should I be looking at something else? The yield of the toner cartridges for the 4700 is higher, but so is the price. The cost per page is actually more expensive on the newer printer. We don't want to go back to the days of stocking 293487298347927 different sets of printer supplies so I'd like to replace all of them with either the same model or models (4600/4650, 4000/4050, etc) that use the same supplies.
