We want to implement some HP CB521A 500 Sheet stackers with our HP P4515N’s laser printers.We went ahead and ordered one online to test, and it installed without any issues, but it hasn’t changed the behavior of the printer we installed it on. It shows up in the printer menu, and in the driver, but if you send a job that’s over 500 sheets it stops like normal when the top output bin is full.
Shouldn’t it just move on to the stacker once the upper bin is full?
Sort of seems like I’m having the same problem as this guy here:

Maybe you can contact HP support before you come out here tomorrow if you don’t know the answer off the top of your head?
