I have a Windows 7 machine which is connected to a Lexmark X654de printer shared from a Server 2008R2 machine. The printer prints fine from within WIndows, test page, notebook, etc. This machine used to print dental xrays from an application by the name of PatientGallery. When attempting to print from Patient Gallery I receive the error message posted in the topic line. Navigating to the print spooler I see that I have no option to do a restart, start, or stop the service, they're all grayed out. This happens with the proper Lexmark driver and with the Universal driver. Rebooting the pc does not fix the issue, It seems necessary to reboot into safe mode, rename or delete the C:/Windows/system32/spool/drivers/x64/3 folder, and reboot into regular mode.
